Miss Meredith
1 year old female domestic

Miss Meredith is such a pretty and warm beauty. She is a one year old domestic shorthair. Her foster home had a clan of cats & dogs, in which she adapted well. She is a little shy, so her home would need to have cat savvy children. She has perfect house manners and weighs only 6#. You’ve got to meet her to appreciate how sweet she is.

Sellwood Dog Supply & Cat Annex Adoption guidelines

Thank you for your interest in adopting a new feline family member. As a partner with Multnomah County Animal Shelter, we will abide by the same regulations as them, and use their adoption application. In order to assist you with your decision to adopt a cat, we would like you to consider the following information.

Adoption Fee

Kittens 6 months or younger are $90.00. Cats over 6 months are $50.00.  The fee ensures your commitment. All of the money goes back to Multnomah County Animal Shelter to help more homeless cats.

All adoptions come with the following.

  • Spay or neuter
  • Current vaccinations
  • Felv/Fiv test
  • Well check health exam
  • Micro chip
  • Pet license

The ownership of a pet comes with some built-in expenses. Consider the following expenses and how they could affect your household budget. Food, vet visits, annual license fee, scratching post, litter/litter box.

When adopting a cat, please realize that the life expectancy generally range from 12-18 years. Are you and your family prepared to make this lengthy commitment to the cat you adopt? Many of the cats at Sellwood Dog Supply & Cat Annex have previous life histories that are unknown to us. Therefore undesirable behaviors could show up after you have the animal at home. Please be prepared for the possible necessity to deal with scratching and litter box training. All behaviors are easily trained but a commitment is required on the part of the adopter to teach the cat where the litter box is and have sufficient scratching materials available.

It is important for you to select a cat whose personality and care needs fit your family. Some are better with young children than others. Sellwood Dog Supply & Cat Annex staff with assist help inform you of each cats personality.

All of the cats have been examined by the Multnomah County Animal Shelter veterinarians, and MCAS will provide treatment for upper respiratory infections and other common diseases up to 14 days after the adoption.
